Description

The Electrical Equipment Fundamentals, Safety and Protective Relaying for Plant Personnel training course is designed to provide an understanding of the electrical equipment and theory, safety essentials and understanding of protective relays.  The training will enhance the plant operators and maintenance technicians understanding of the electrical areas related to operating the power generation equipment.  The training integrates a combination of classroom instruction and practical applications.  Operations and maintenance technicians perform functions vital to the safe and efficient operation of a power plant.  In order to fulfill their job responsibilities, they require an understanding of the Siemens Energy electrical generator system and its interrelationship with the associated systems of their plant.  The goal of the training program is to provide this understanding of how to work safely with de-energized electrical systems in the maintenance environment, including reading protective relays.

Training conducted to the NERC PER-006-1 Standard.

NOTE: This course does NOT meet the requirements to qualify personnel as qualified electrical workers.
