(DCS310.7) PCS7 for I&C Technician

Familiarize the I&C Technician with the operation, control and administration of the PCS 7 control system.

Description

The PCS 7 for the I&C Technician course is intended to familiarize the I&C Technician with the operation, control and administration of the PCS 7 control system. The I&C Technician will become familiar with the various features of the PCS 7 Control System and what he can do as the system administrator to facilitate the plant operations and maintenance.

The PCS 7 for the I&C Technician course covers a practical introduction to the control system with extensive hands-on practice in configuring and maintaining the control system. Additionally, the technician will become familiar with administration of the control system including user management, control system configuration and system maintenance.

This course of instruction will also include an in-depth use of functional logic diagrams, including tracing logic for troubleshooting, making parameter changes to functional logic diagrams and changing or adding logic blocks to the functional logic diagrams.

A unique feature of this course is flexibility. The instructor evaluates each technician to determine his level of experience and knowledge and then tailors the course to challenge each and every technician, ensuring all of his plant related questions have been answered.

Upon completion of this training, personnel are prepared to effectively participate alongside the SIEMENS Startup and Commissioning engineers and maintain the plant control system post- commissioning.
