(OIT401.2b) Evaluating Legacy Steam Turbine Starting Time Curves

Evaluating Legacy Steam Turbine Starting Time Curves

Description

The Evaluating Legacy Steam Turbine Starting Time Curves course is intended to increase student understanding concerning the starting time requirements dependent upon temperatures within the Steam Turbine.

Upon completion of this training, personnel will be able to identify which starting curve is needed for given conditions, determine appropriate warmup times for each type of startup and understand the limitations imposed by temperatures prior to startup of a Building Block and a Legacy steam turbine.

Topics Covered:
Legacy Steam Turbine Limitations
o    Stresses affecting Legacy Steam Turbines
o    Temperatures
o    Pressures
o    Cold Start Curves
o    Warm Start Curves
o    Hot Start Curves
o    Using the curves
o    Startup walkthrough

Intended Audience:
Operators/I&C Techs/Maint Techs/etc

PLEASE NOTE:  The course length is provided as an estimate only.  Actual course length may vary based on student experience level and participation.
